July 2004
1. A small team worked with Salvationists from various Cities who had been identified as potential leaders. The team members instructed and gave advice in a wide variety of areas pastoral care to children's ministries.
2 .A building team carried out renovations to 6 bathrooms and 2 play rooms at the disabled children's orphanage in the town of Znamenka in central Ukraine.
3. Also at the Znamenka orphanage a team of 6 members [inc. qualified nursing staff] assisted the orphanage staff where required. This orphanage houses 92 disabled youngsters of varying ages and disabilities, many extremely acute. (Sheila McFarlane carried out massage therapies)
4. A small team of qualified foot care specialists provided expertise free of charge to local people who attended the Salvation Army centre at Kirovograd. This team was also available to the Orphanage as required.
5. Two teams ran day clubs for youngsters of all ages at the Kirovograd centre and at the outpost in a nearby housing settlement. These clubs offered craft, sport, Christian drama, dance and music. (Ashley will helped with the Christian drama) Each person traveling raised £500. The money purchased all materials required to carry out the renovations and also to buy items badly needed for The Orphanage. This mission is only possible due to the continued support of the Winton Corps fellowship and friends.
